Quick and easy Bunny Chow

As you may or may not know, I was born and raised in Durbs. My all time favorite meal is a Bunny Chow. I sure do miss being able order one whenever I want to. I’ve only found one restaurant in Cape Town who sells a super tastey Durban Bunny Chow, and that is Tikkaways at the N1 City Value center. Their food literally tastes like it’s straight out of Durban.  Just one bite and all my childhood memories come to life.

Anyway, I couldn’t resist sharing this quick and easy bunny chow recipe by Sasko, with you. It’s perfect for any night of the week, weekend or even on the go!

To serve:

Step 1: Halve the mini loaves and scoop out most of the bread, fill with the curry

Step 2: Serve on plates with a sprinkling of fresh coriander and topped with the left over bread to soak up the delicious sauce.

Alternative: for a lower fat version swap the cream for low fat yoghurt and 1 teaspoon of sugar OR use ½ cream, ½ yoghurt and a pinch of sugar.

Tip 1: Be careful about the heat of the chilli you use – usually the larger the chilli, the milder it is, but ask your green grocer or look at the packet information if you are unsure.
