My blog went live on the 21st of June this year. What a roller coaster it has been. I know my blog is still very much a baby, actually still in the womb, BUT this is why I’d like YOU to please vote for my blog in the 2017 South African Blog Awards.
First of all, let me start off by saying, I don’t know what on earth I was doing when I started. Don’t get me wrong, I’m no expert, but looking back at the beginning which was just a few months ago, It’s clear to see that I was an absolute beginner. I read one of my first articles the other day and I could not stop laughing at what I had been writing. I’ve learn’t so so much about how and what to write since I started.
Infact, I don’t even know how I got to blogging. Like why would I of all people start blogging, I’ve never written and not even a lover of reading either!?
But, if I’m really honest with myself and think really really hard about it, I came to the conclusion that theres only one REAL reason I ended up here, and that’s MOTHERHOOD. It’s after the birth of my second child that moved me to blog. Because being a mom of two kids, who are boys, is NEXT LEVEL MOMMYING YO!
If you’ve got one kid and think motherhood is tough, phew, go ahead and have two. I don’t even want to think about what 3 or more kids must be like.
I thought I would have it all in control because hey, I’m not a first-time mom, I know everything I need to know, I’ve got the experience and I’m well equipped. HA!
Turns out I had a good few life lessons to learn. So yes, motherhood got me turning to blogging as a means to release some of the intense pressure. And it works for me. Tremendously. This blog is my little project, my little caterpillar that I watch grow and form beautifully each and every day.
But it’s more than just watching. I’ve put in so much effort into this very little blog of mine. It’s been changed around so many times, my traffic has increased and it’s currently at the point where it has organic traffic. If you don’t know what that is, it basically means people google certain subjects, and google suggests that they read my blog. SAY WHAT? And that doesn’t happen over night as I thought it did. And it’s in addition to people getting to my blog via social media sharing.
So if you thinking there little to no effort needed to keep this blog going, then please don’t. I actually am in the background doing stuff, working, fixing, “coding”, taking a million pictures etc, to make all of this happen.
